Maintaining Weber Grill Parts

!±8± Maintaining Weber Grill Parts

Cleaning Charcoal Grills

Charcoal Weber grills are easier to clean and maintain than gas Weber grills. When cleaning the Weber grill parts of a charcoal grill, you need a charcoal griller's toolbox. This toolbox contains brass wire grill brush, soap-embedded fine steel wool pads (0 to 100 grades), mild dish soap and a sponge or dishcloth. Immediately after coals die out, dried particles on the cooking grate should be loosened with a brass grill brush. To clean thoroughly these Weber grill parts, you apply slight pressure on the part with a wet, soapy and fine steel wool pad. You then rinse them thoroughly and allow them to dry. To prevent airflow problems, you should remove cold ashes from the bottom of the kettle. This prevents premature rusting of the One-Touch Cleaning System as ashes also absorb moisture.

As needed, clean the bowl and the lid with warm, soapy water and a sponge or dishcloth. For baked-on grease, you can remove them by simply brushing it off using a bras wire grill brush. Scrub lightly the porcelain-enameled Weber grill parts using soapy, fine steel wool pad. You should observe caution to prevent scratching of the porcelain-enameled part. You should never wax the lid or paint them since the Weber grill parts are usually made of baked-on porcelain enamel. You should clean them using a dust cloth with warm soapy water.

Cleaning Gas Grills

For gas grills, the additional parts that should you should clean include the flavorizer bars, warming racks and control panel, bottom trays, endcaps and cookbox. You can clean flavorizer bars by heating the grill enough to remove the accumulated debris. The bars may be occasionally brushed or scraped using nylon, plastic or a Teflon putty knife. Warming racks and a control panel may be cleaned by the use of fine steel wool pad with soap. You could remove grease spots and stains with light wiping using fine steel wool pad so as not to scratch the porcelain. You should never remove the Weber grill parts, such as the bottom tray, while hot. You can use a one-inch putty knife or any straight or flat object to scrape carefully the inside of the bottom tray. For deep cleaning, you can use warm soapy water and a soapy fine steel wool pad, being careful not to scratch the porcelain finish. Never place a foil in the bottom tray, since grease may accumulate in the foil's creases and cause grease fire.

You should properly maintain your Weber grill parts to achieve the most out of their use. Just remember that well-maintained parts last longer and perform as good as new replacement parts.

A Built in Grill Can Be the Centerpiece of Your Outdoor Kitchen

!±8± A Built in Grill Can Be the Centerpiece of Your Outdoor Kitchen

What's your idea of the perfect backyard kitchen? While planning outdoor kitchens the very first thing you'll want to give thought to is just what cooking food out-of-doors suggests for you. This could be just using the bbq to cook hamburgers for a family weekend get-together - or you might envision a full scale luxurious dining and cooking area where you can wholly prepare and cook food for a social gathering. For the luxury model you can incorporate almost everything that you could have within the indoor kitchen, but outdoors; not forgetting the outdoor kitchen refrigerator and bar.

An area of major relevance will be the outdoor kitchen barbeque grill. Despite the fact that there are several forms of cooking you can do outdoors, the grill is what many people look into when imagining a dinner party or barbecue. Your main decision is going to be between a propane gas grill and a charcoal grill. Propane gas grills provide the convenience and usability point, although charcoal grills can be a more authentic open-air lifestyle option. It is simply dependent on personal taste and you can find positive aspects and downsides for each method.

If you are planning to make meals outside regularly for a number of people, then you might want to consider the variety of gas grills available. One of the Weber brand grills out there is aptly called "The Summit" as it is the ultimate example of the outdoor grill. This grill is an enormous 66 inches wide and contains four stainless burners, a rotisserie, and also a stainless steel smoke cooker box. If this is beyond your spending plan there are many other versions of outdoor grills, either standalone models as well as ones that can be built into your outdoor kitchen design.

Even in the perfect locations your backyard barbecuing plans could be put on hold by a surprise shower. A way of getting rid of this possible problem is by fitting a grill gazebo. This ingenious protection makes sure that your grill, your food and the person undertaking the cooking keep underneath cover and dry whatever the weather condition tosses at you. These can be as simple as a simple canvas cover or on the other end of the range your grill gazebo could be a long term structure having an inbuilt island and work surfaces. You can find contemporary models made of light weight aluminum to go well with a cutting-edge stainless steel barbeque grill.

Whatever you do, don't let lack of research damage your back garden outdoor kitchen plans. Regardless if you are hoping to carry out outdoor dining on a lavish scale or if you only wish to have friends and family barbecues in the comfort of your own back garden, outdoor kitchens designs could be your route to a more gratifying lifestyle. Fire up that barbeque grill and get cooking!

Designing Your Own Built In BBQ

!±8± Designing Your Own Built In BBQ

Gas and propane barbecues today are sights to behold. With extensive use of high quality materials, and with the high-end predominantly made of stainless steel even built-in barbecues have matured and as more people entertain outdoors patios and decks now sport furniture that would look grand in five star hotels. As a result of all these enhancements to the home more people are opting to skip grills on wheels and build custom barbecues.

Custom barbecues are not new, they started becoming popular in the 1950's but as portable units became more common the trend was toward those types of units. The resurgence of built-in barbecues has fueled growth in this niche market and manufacturers have noticed that home owners are willing to spend thousands of dollars on designer built-in barbecues. And they are helping fuel the flames by offering products that are worthy of high-end kitchens that are operated by internationally recognized chefs.

Building your backyard built-in is not as simple as slapping 2x4's together with cements and bricks. You need to have a good idea of what you want - something simple, or more complex that offers a lot of function as well as style. Some of the high-end built-ins will feature gas, propane or electric grills with convection, multiple burners, storage cabinets, preparation areas, sinks, etc.,

For example, Weber produces the Summit S-460 built-in natural gas grill. It features 4 stainless steel burners rated at 48,800 BTU's, includes a 10,600 BTU infrared rear-mounted rotisserie burner, 10,600 BTU sear burner and an 8,000 BTU smoker burner and stainless steel smoker box. The price starts at around ,700.00 - this doesn't include any other cabinetry, preparation areas, islands or other accessories.

When you start considering building a built-in barbecue, you are looking at something like an outdoor kitchen.

Several designs feature U shaped outdoor kitchens where people can sit on stools around entertain and plate & serve zone. The cooking zone, and prep zone are off to the right away from your guests.

There are some general rules to follow in planning your homemade barbecue:

Placement - put your barbecue where it can stay for many years, becuase you won't be able to move this around. It should also be in a place where it won't put other structures in danger from fire. Appearance - the design should follow your home and yard otherwise the barbecue will seem out of place. Utility - plan on adding refrigeration, preparation areas, entertaining zones and serving zones. A well thought out plan will mean that you will use your built-in year after year, you don't want to be running in and out for every little thing. Weather - most people that build built-ins live in areas where they are suitable, but still pay attention to the weather in your area. You do not want to build your barbecue where it's constantly sunny and hot - you won't enjoy cooking and nobody will enjoy eating in a very hot area. Strategically place the barbecue where you get equal amount of sun and shade to make it inviting at anytime during the day. Maintenance - regardless of the type of barbecue you choose - built-in or movable, you need to maintain the unit and the surrounding area so that critical components are easy to reach or get at if you need to.

Other things to take into account during the planning stage: how many guests do you normally entertain? Do you have enough space to build what you envision? Is professional installation required? Chances are your grill will be propane powered - do you have hookups or will you need to have them installed?

Depending on the layout you choose, there are several items you will want to consider. We've put together a built-in with four zones:

Zone 1 - The Entertain Zone: This will contain items such as an outdoor refrigerator, bartending center, ice bin and coolers, ice machine, beer dispenser, blender and wine cooler. Zone 2 - Plate and Serve Zone: Warming drawers, food warmers and garnish center. Zone 3 - Cooking Zone: Grill, doors and drawers, side burners, propane tank bins (if you decide against natural gas), griddles, ovens and sufficient ventilation. Zone 4 - Prep Zone: Remember to include sinks, trash bins, paper towel holders, cutting boards and dry storage pantry.

Designing and planning your own built-in does take a lot of work and though, but once it is ready you can host backyard barbecues for friends or just family and each time it will get easier and easier as you learn to maximize your built-in.
